The $6 million, 15,000-square-foot facility will offer same-day medical care on Disney property and coordinated treatment with specialists and other facilities throughout Central Florida. The clinic will feature evening and weekend hours. A grand opening is expected this fall, in the backstage area of Epcot. CHD Meridian will recruit for the approximately 40 jobs, including primary-care physicians and other medical professionals, as well as administrative staff.
CHD Meridian is a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly traded I-trax Inc., which provides workplace health-care and fitness services to more than 100 clients through more than 200 facilities nationwide. The Pennsylvania company describes its client base as including large financial institutions, consumer-products manufacturers, automotive and automotive-parts manufacturers, diversified industrial companies, and a variety of other employers. More than 90 percent of Disney World’s 41,000 full-time employees use health plans offered by the company, said Disney officials, who estimated that as many as 70,000 workers and their dependents could have access to the clinic.
